The day begins…

As followers of Jesus, adopted children of God, wherever we are, HE IS.

“I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!””
‭‭(Psalm‬ ‭122:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

“Let us go” suggests choice. It implies calling.

To where shall we go?

“The house of the Lord!”

Is this the Temple? No. It is no more.

Is it your local church building? Yes, but…

While this is rightly applied to the local church, it would be very sad to me if the only time you went to the house of the Lord was when you gather with fellow disciples.

No, it’s more. It’s a “morning by morning” dwelling with God.

Wherever we were, these last three weeks, I was glad to go the house of the Lord. I was glad to go to the throne room of God and boldly approach the throne of Grace, dwelling in the Scriptures, giving him praise, begging him for the things on my list of prayers for people, and thanking him for… everything.

Whether at a kitchen table, on a balcony overlooking the neighborhood, a chair in a hotel lobby, a cafe, at home in the regular place, a safe place during an air raid, sitting in your quiet vehicle after dropping the kids, or wherever, remember the invitation:

“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
