“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”
Romans 12:3-5 ESV
“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” (Romans 15:1)
…that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another. For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?” (1 Corinthians 4:6-7)
“It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”Matthew 20:26ff
How? Obey Jesus: shema, neighbor, enemy, & one another
How can I love my enemy? Pray for him, God will change your heart even if he doesn’t change his.
This is why we need to abide in Jesus. We cannot rest on prior study, as tempting as that may be, we must dwell in the word daily and storm the throne of grace in prayer with boldness! Using the words of God as the language of prayer.
Then, with hearts and minds infused with peace, we may ask for and receive wisdom from above…
