Humility in community…

“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:3-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” ‭(Romans‬ ‭15:1‬)

…that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another. For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:6-7‬)

“It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”‭Matthew‬ ‭20:26ff

How? Obey Jesus: shema, neighbor, enemy, & one another

How can I love my enemy? Pray for him, God will change your heart even if he doesn’t change his.

This is why we need to abide in Jesus. We cannot rest on prior study, as tempting as that may be, we must dwell in the word daily and storm the throne of grace in prayer with boldness! Using the words of God as the language of prayer.

Then, with hearts and minds infused with peace, we may ask for and receive wisdom from above…

Steps to Spiritual Renewal

The above is the new subtitle to the newly updated and re-published book, A Fresh Start.

You can get it on Amazon. It will cost you a whopping $5.99!

Here’s the short description I wrote for Amazon:
This book is a self-guided resource to strengthen your personal discipleship, or if you prefer, spiritual development. The resource has three parts. Part One is about looking back and in. Part Two is about looking forward. Part Three contains some ‘tools’ to help you keep moving in your personal discipleship.

Click Here to see it on Amazon.

This book is designed to help you move forward.

Set your mind on God’s will…

“To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭123:1‬

“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” ‭‭Ps. ‭139:23-24‬

“Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭115:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” ‭‭Matt ‭23:12‬

“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:3‬

“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭2:24-26‬

“”But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:27-28‬
