Awe revisited

The wind and rain slowly eroded this volcano after it stopped erupting. Geologists estimate it may have stood at 15,000 feet at its peak, today it is 10,000+. The crater is enormous, at 2 x 7 miles. This view taught me deeply about ‘awe.’

This mountain of rock wears away like all things on earth.

But, fellow disciple…

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” ‭‭- Jesus (Matthew‬ ‭24:35‬)

Shining face? Reflection?

After Moses met with God, his face was shining… I’d imagine that is was not like a sunburn, but like the sun itself…

But maybe the sun itself is a reach, illustration wide… too much…

perhaps it was more like the moon, because the moon reflects the sun… shining brighter than the city lights!

At any rate, here’s the question: When we meet with God, are we leaving that conversation as a bright reflection of him?

May each of us reflect his love and grace in myriad ways.

Words for prayer…

“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” Psalms‬ ‭139:23-24‬ ‭ESV‬‬
