I found a little book in an antique store that Anna and I were looking around in… it is part of a series called the Philosophical Library, pub. 1949… I was amazed by the title… The World As I See It … it is a translation of a work written in German by Albert Einstein…
I was facinated… just listen…
“I answer, the man who regards his own life and that of his fellow creatures as meaningless is not merely unfortunate but almost disqualified for life.”
then he said this…
“Each of us is here for a brief sojourn [travelin!!]; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he feels it.”
and finally this…
“The ideals which have lighted me on my way and time after time given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.” (his capitalization, not mine)
interesting, huh?

spring breaks through the dark days…
there is a saying here in the south that the dogwood blossom comes forth around Easter to remind us of the cross of Jesus… today we celebrate the risen Christ, risen from the dark tomb…
I need to learn, I need to remember, that during the darkness it is my job to look to Him, to even develop an appreciation for that time… to take that darkness… to draw nearer to Him durimg that time…
because He willingly went
to that whipping, to that cross, into that tomb, to unite with me when I am existing in the drkness…
“O God, allow me to be willing to seek you on those days, during that hour, in that moment of darkness, help me not to seek control but to allow YOU to take care of me in the darkness. In the name of Him who joined me in my darkness. Amen”
We rise from darkness to lig
ht, from hunger to bounty!
Here is Easter dinner!!!
Let us lear to appreciate and have gratitude for both dark days and for life’s great bounty!

my sweet anna and i went for a walk around the pond last night… as you can see it was growing toward darkness… the colors were beautiful…
around this pond is a path on which we walk…
we know the path well… it is clearly marked… it is really a pavement
life’s path is not always so clearly marked… but there is One who we can follow… last Sunday, anna and i went for a hike… i let her lead the way because i wanted to follow…
all i had to do was follow…
i knew she knew the way through the forest…
i trusted her to lead me in the right direction…
following God is like that, knowing He knows the way and
trusting him to lead in the right direction… all we have to do is follow Him…
why is trusting so hard for us sometimes? when we figure out the answer to THAT question we will be able to follow Him better… so… what IS that answer?
