… at all times …

David was no insulated person who did not know trouble. He knew what it meant to be a man fleeing great trouble and living in a foreign place. Yet he says:

“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭34:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬

“at all times”

This is just like when Paul who reminds us to be thankful in all things.

Being thankful, blessing the Lord, remembering God, when times are hard – like now – is a sure means to our being able to press on.

In the strength that God gives us. To be his hands and feet to a hurting world.

Welcome to my beloved Vinnytsia

Yesterday, on the phone, my brother Jeremy was surprised by my description of Vinnytsia. He had understood why, from previous videos, that I see it as strategic to helping those fleeing the raging battles. He told me I need to show you Vinnytsia. I grabbed some photos and made a quick video and sent it to my brother Tucker. He really came through. Thanks guys.

Now, you can Get to know my beloved Vinnytsia a little better.

Comfort from the Word of God

I sent these to some friends in Ukraine today. If you’re like me, you too could use some reminding about the ultimate safety we have in God’s sovereignty.

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. The cords of death encompassed me; the torrents of destruction assailed me; the cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.” (Psalm‬ ‭18:2-6‬ ‭ESV)‬‬

“But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” (2 Timothy‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Here’s a prayer request for you:

“Oh God, I beg you to keep Vinnytsia safe so that the thousands who have fled there for refuge would feel relative safety, but also that they would know ultimate safety in you. In our Savior’s name, Amen”
