Darkness with purpose

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, …” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:3-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

This is the view from deep inside a cave in a mountainside. Darkness. When Jesus was sealed in the tomb of Nicodemus, this is what it would have been like.

Darkness descended when he died. But hear this…

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.” (Romans‬ ‭5:3-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬)
