Look up!

Slow down, be still and wait…

“Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.

Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” 1Peter‬ ‭4:16, 19‬ ‭ESV‬‬

God is god.

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:24-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I my copying-meditating this morning, I’m struck by these words from Paul to the Ephesians …

Paul is calling disciples to become like Jesus… love, tenderhearted, kind, forgiving. “Walk in love” he says.

I’m reminded of the closing words of Psalm 19:

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” (v. 14‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

When you feel assailed, proclaim with the Psalmist…
