Home is a great place. There are several homes in which I can really relax and take a breath as I travel. But home is special. Glad to be home in USA for a few weeks with my Sweet Anna.

Last post from field #thankful
So as I sit at my gate waiting for my first of two flights home, I am thankful:
For the way God designed details of this trip that I could not imagine: frustrations that turned into blessing when I let Him be in charge; lessons that grew me when I fought him (so I could run the show) yet he showed me grace; for new partnerships in the gospel and the potential for more on the horizion; for well being and safety; great conversations; His guidance in teaching.
To God be the glory.
Please pray for uneventful journey home to my Sweet Anna.
stunned
Today was my first time on a bus from Sarajevo northward to e. Croatia. I was stunned when I observed the conditions along the road in north central Republika Srpka (the ethnic Serbian part of BiH).
I feel like I saw more ruins of houses from the war (presumably) than I have seen since my first visit to Vukovar in ’03, a little over a decade.
Indeed, the conditions in this part of the region rival southern Serbia for being run down but compounded by the war damage, which appears untouched. My heart goes out to these people.

Travel Day
At 6am tomorrow morning, three of us will load up in a car…no train… 😦
and drive from northern Hungary (almost Slovakia) to eastern Croatia. I’ll hang out there for a few hours and then board a bus to Sarajevo to visit some of Jesus’ followers in this Muslim city in SE Europe.
I have two goals: encourage leaders who are bringing the gospel of Jesus to this city and pray over the city that God would draw many to Himself.

Retreat
A baker’s dozen of us will go on a retreat tomorrow. It will be a time of rest and reflection.
Here’s our outline:
Don’t look back with regret,
Don’t sit now in fear,
Look forward with hope in God.
Tom bacsi speaks at South Budapest church
Heres a link to our ministry website…. http://www.ceokids.org/tom-bacsi-speaks-at-south-budapest-church/ As the weekend closes, I’ve had some pretty fun and meaningful conversations with good friends in Budapest. It was really awesome to talk to many of the folks at DelPest church and preach there and at Bekasmegyer church at 5pm.
