Because he understood the greatness of God, Paul could say from house arrest…

“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians‬ ‭4:11-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Dwell in him, he will give you contentment.

Finished Colossians, now meditating through copying Philippians… from house arrest, Paul encourages…

“By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom.” Proverbs‬ ‭13:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

C. S. Lewis famously said you can’t just call him a great human teacher…

“And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”

I’m meditating, through copying, the letters of Paul from his 1st Roman incarnation. Just did Colossians 3:12-15… it was a glorious read.

Meditate and pray these things, asking the Father to mold you into these things…

Above all, decide to love.
