Friends don’t…

just tell you what they think you want to hear.

Listen:

“The ear that listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise. Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15:31-32‬ ‭ESV‬‬

struggle…

It’s part of our existence… so, hope in God… keep praying… keep soaking up the Scripture… keep looking at Him… not at those waves… keep your eyes on Jesus… not the waves that are tossing you about… but on He who can calm the storm… in your heart.

praise to consider

I was just encouraged anew and added this to my list of daily texts to lift praise to God during my prayers.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭104:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Zagreb

I’m in the pretty city of Zagreb for a couple of days. Circumstances caused additional changes to my travel schedule and enabled me to stop and rest (Sweet Anna was glad to hear it) for a day.

The railway station is on the right, an appropriate view from my window.

The market was a great place to sip coffee…

I’m headed out next to visit and speak in a church that’s new to me. I’ll be encouraging folks to be disciples and make disciples.

Tomorrow I head to Ukraine.

remember the promises of God as you ROW! He is our shepherd

This flock of sheep surrounded then passed the car I was in. They were being herded by dogs who seemed to be getting instructions from an unseen (to me) shepherd.
I was thankful for the Great Shepherd and His word.

“For the Lord your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.”‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:31‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I told folks at CEOOGPFME that I would share these resources that are helping me ROW! I’m reading the @YouVersion plan ‘M’Cheyne One Year Reading Plan’. Check it out here:

http://bible.com/v/O

And I really urge you to invest 2 weeks here in the @YouVersion plan ‘Prayer: A 14-Day Devotional By Tim Keller’. Check it out here:

No matter what comes your way, ROW! Pray and abide in Scripture so you will hear our shepherd.

Pécs, Hungary

We’re in Pécs for the 5th Christian Educators Outreach Occasional Gathering of Partners and Friends for Mutual Encouragement (CEOOGPFME).

This is a mid-sixteenth century mosque left over from the Ottoman occupation of Hungary. It was turned into a church in the early 18th c. after the Turks were driven out.
