Advent: light

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.”

‭‭(John‬ ‭1:1-5, 9-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

Happy Advent!

“Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭150:1-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Looking Back With gratitude for 2018 at CEO

Our mission is to identify, equip and mentor leaders. Our objective is to facilitate vision and support ministry development without trying to manage what people do. We are all ministry partners with a common objective, to bring glory to God and to be tools that he uses to build his kingdom. Our partners served the Lord in 2018 in a variety of contexts: Hungary, South Africa, Croatia, Ukraine, England, USA, Latin America, Serbia and Finland. We estimate that the effective reach of the combined ministry of all of our partners in 2018 is greater than 5000 persons.

These ministry partners serve in a wide variety of ways: as teachers, of English, theology, and the Bible; as facilitators of various sports and outdoor ministries; in pastoral roles in churches;  in leadership roles in a variety of justice concerns: the global cause of at-risk children, serving the homeless, refugees and the poor. Of great importance in our work is the care for and the equipping of leaders. This care and equipping occurs as we host retreats and make individual visits among our ministry partners and a broadening networks of regional leaders. This year the number of retreats CEO provided support to grew from three to six. In 2018 CEO provided scholarships to three individuals pursuing undergraduate studies in Eastern Europe. CEO partners served in two theological institutions as teachers and in leadership roles. Significant progress was made in 2018 on the development of the ministry center in South Africa. In all these accomplishments and ongoing opportunities, we give God the glory for his continued work in and through us.

During the summer our financial records were examined by an independent CPA firm who reported to our Board of DIrectors that our accounting was in compliance with expected standards. We AGAIN received accreditation by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. We care deeply about financial integrity.
