King Solomon built the Temple according to God’s design.
Jet lag 4am reading noted this detail:
“The vestibule in front of the nave of the house was twenty cubits long, equal to the width of the house, and its height was 120 cubits. He overlaid it on the inside with pure gold.”
2 Chronicles 3:4 ESV
Look at this one sentence ⬇️
“He overlaid it on the inside with pure gold.”
The Temple may have looked like this model. (Bible Museum)

This view ⬆️ is similar but higher than the Mount Of Olives. Which today looks like this ⬇️

That Temple is long gone.
We, the followers of Jesus, who have trusted Him, are now the temple.
And we, also, have been overlaid on the inside:
“In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,”
Ephesians 1:13 ESV
“Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.”
1 John 3:24 ESV
Rejoice!
You are filled with He who is more precious than gold, because to Him, you have more value than gold!
“Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.”
1 John 3:24 ESV

Korea is known as the land of the morning calm.
This sunrise image from our mountain hotel window depicts it well.
Perhaps just as helpful is this pic from yesterday down by the river in Anna’s home village.

There is an ever present mist or fog this time of year. It calms the scene. (It also prevents seeing the river – if you look past the trees you’ll see the faint line of the other side of the river.)
But we must guard against trying to find calm in circumstances.
True calm comes from the inside:
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”
Colossians 3:15 ESV
One need not be IN the land of the morning calm, to enjoy the peace of the Lord each morning.

First morning in Korea and, after the long journey, here’s my reminder from the Psalms⬇️
“Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord, or declare all his praise?”
Psalm 106:1-2 ESV

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.”
Psalm 103:11-13 ESV

“Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.”
Psalm 146:1-4 ESV

It is a short lived thing to put your trust in princes and chariots. Their help is temporary at best.
