The Land of the Morning Calm

Korea is known as the land of the morning calm.

This sunrise image from our mountain hotel window depicts it well.

Perhaps just as helpful is this pic from yesterday down by the river in Anna’s home village.

There is an ever present mist or fog this time of year. It calms the scene. (It also prevents seeing the river – if you look past the trees you’ll see the faint line of the other side of the river.)

But we must guard against trying to find calm in circumstances.

True calm comes from the inside:

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

One need not be IN the land of the morning calm, to enjoy the peace of the Lord each morning.
