Give glory to God…

Through the day and night, we ought to keep our Heavenly Father in mind. Here are some texts to help us do just that. Pray them to give Him glory. Adore Him.

“Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth!” Psalms‬ ‭57:5‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Turn to me and be gracious to me; give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your maidservant. Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭86:15-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!” Psalms‬ ‭115:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬

‭“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”‭‭ Psalm‬ ‭8:9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Raise your aim…

There are so many of us today who are trying to wrestle our way through the coils of anxiety. I hear it in so many conversations.

“Aim at heaven,” C. S. Lewis said, “and you get earth thrown in. Aim at earth,” he warned, “and get neither.”

I have found this to be true. I was reminded of this just now.

“For the Lord is our judge; the Lord is our lawgiver; the Lord is our king; he will save us.”‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭33:22‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Raise your aim, look to Him who really can save you and rescue you from your anxious struggle.

His work brings us peace.

“And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.”‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭32:17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Grow in the knowledge of the Lord through His word…

“You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:17-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Our Heavenly Father is faithful even when we are not… He holds our hand patiently as we face uncertainty…

“When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart, I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward you. Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you. But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭73:21-28‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What are the spiritual qualities we need to live in?

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.”‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:3-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬
