But she is in denial and needs to listen, too! All things considered, it IS about the nail, because everything she says centers around its effects on her. She ignores him and makes herself the center of the conversation. Paradoxically, that puts the nail in charge. She is unable to receive his friendship, she is diminished as a human being, because she is subject to a nail. He can “listen” only for so long before her self-absorption renders her powerless or beyond help.
Thanks for your thought Doug, but I think you missed the point of the video and maybe, just maybe, you illustrated the point for the rest of us.
