so last night a bunch of us went to a concert – a guy from the 50s and 60s, his name is Paul Anka… it was a good show, as one friend put it, “it was nice to be entertained…”
the last two chapels i have tried to begin to convey to the kids what worship is, what is results in… one of the illustrations i gave was of people at a football game or people at a concert who were cheering madly for thier team or their favorite band…
well, last night i saw this happening… while enjoying the show, it became really clear that some present were enjoying the show a lot more than some of the rest of us… during one song, Mr. Anka came down to the floor level and was dancing with a lady as he sang when another lady RAN down to the front, unashamed, to get a chance to dance… she waited while they danced, and he sang, and he was gracious enough to give her a kiss… she was, in a sense, worshipping… interesting to think of how unconcerned she was about appearance… she only wanted his attention and recognition… she recognized him and begged for attention… she got the attention…
don’t misunderstand… i know i am messed up too, i worship stuff i shouldn’t i’m no better, i just haven’t seen such a good example since UVa beat FSU for the second time…

look forward in His power following Him in faith…

The first week of school is behind us!
during this time, i really became aware of how important routine is… since i’m still figuring out what my routine for this year will be… settling into a system in which i understand when i’m free and when i’m tied up is essential to being a good manager of my time… which, i think i’ve said before, is one of my most important earthly resources that must be captured for eternal worth… just gotta turn off that TV… oh, yeah… happy Labor Day in the USA

NBC put an amazing program on tonight which reviewed the amazing struggle that took place during the hurricane…
during the aftermath…
a modern tragedy…
it was especially tragic to so many because it was in the USA…
but wait…
around the world, this disaster is just one of many…
just take a look in Africa via the BBC webpage …
and South Asia…
…our ablity to know what is going on shows us the severe need which exists around this weary old planet…
