From the minute you step off the train at Szeged station the Dom church towers are the dominant feature of the ‘skyline.’ Last Thursday and Friday I grabbed a few shots from a few different perspectives. Here are some of them.

How often to pause?
“I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.” Psalms 145:1-3 ESV
The psalmist declared that “every day” he would bless the Lord.
Pause, each morning, and begin your day with praise to God.

Rule #2 (better or worse?)
So we’re driving on a motorway (interstate) and looked up on an overpass and there, to our great surprise and amusement was a cow walking across – at a good pace, I might add – the overpass. It all happened so fast I couldn’t even get a picture.
But last night while at an inter city futball (soccer) match, the hometown rowdies were shooting fireworks onto the pitch (field). The fire department had firefighters were standing by in their firefighting gear to go onto the pitch to retrieve the smoldering fireworks. Meanwhile play continued. At one point I looked across into the stand and the smoke rising from amongst the fans.

So this, I suppose, is rule #2* at its best.
*Rule 2 – It’s not better, it’s not worse, it’s just different.

Turning to requires giving up…
“The high places, however, were not taken away; the people had not yet set their hearts upon the God of their fathers.”2 Chronicles 20:33 ESV

You can barely see the castle ruins in this pic, I took this after optimal light angle had long past, but it was my last chance before moving on. But it’s there, atop the smaller mountain just to the right and below center. A 13th century castle ruin.
The text above struck me because the people of Israel at the time of Jehosophat we not such a faithful group.
Are we hanging on to our own high places? Not putting aside the things that keep us from setting our hearts on God?
Are you walking with a fellow-disciple who knows what distracts you from setting your heart on God?

Take the path that pleases your audience of One.
Believe in and grow in your knowledge of what is biblical through daily communication with He who is Truth and communicates with those who seek Him.

Chart a course based on this belief and stay on that path.
Continue to abide deeply with He who is the Truth and He will guide you.
Take the counsel of men carefully but lightly, and then only as they align with Scripture.
Seek to please only your audience of One. God, who created and gifted you because of His great love for you.
Things will be well with you as His peace results. Peace that come from Him as a gift to those IN Christ Jesus.
Accept the consequences humans place upon you; to paraphrase a Cuban leader who knows all too well: “If we go to jail for the Truth, we go to jail.”
Stick to His path no matter what circumstances are in your way.
