The Nemeth men and I were held up at the border between Serbia and Bosnia on Saturday. I bravely/stupidly took this pic secretly from the back seat (I’ve not forgotten Mario at THE border).

They saw the three passports (HU, Serb and USA) and asked where we were going and they held us up for 45 minutes (that’s just about how late we were). Here they are…

Not only did they ask for all Laci’s papers but they looked through all the stuff in the car and wanted to know if we had professional camera equipment. No, they were told.
They really drug their feet in ‘detaining’ us. But in one sense, it worked out okay because Laci found the live radio broadcast of the funeral on the radio… When I get home, I’m gonna create a nine minute or so film about the experience and post it. The netbook has not the technology for such an editing endeavor.
This is the central memorial

But it wasn’t the central memorial Saturday, the people were…
This man’s shirt says it clearly:

after the chanting and songs and speeches, the coffins were carried to their resting places..

and buried… the women could only watch…

It was a very powerful experience.
Never forget.
Pay attention.
Bring justice to the oppressed.
