Mission

MISSION “We cross cultures in Word and deed through education, church planting and love to bring the Gospel of Grace to those in need.”

This is the new mission statement of Christian Educators Outreach.  There are a couple of key things that I should emphasize about this statement.

We capitalize “Word” intentionally. We know that Jesus’ work in our lives is the key to real and meaningful change in us and beyond. Jesus is the Word became flesh (John 1). But we also have the Word of God to guide, inform and instruct us (2 Tim 3:16). Therefore, when we say “Word”, we mean God working through us because Jesus changes and guides us.

The “Gospel of Grace” is also a key. To understand the Gospel of Grace, we need to understand what we mean by the Gospel. It is implied above, but let me be explicit, it is the work of Jesus (His life, teachings, miracles, suffering, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and promised return) that give us new life by faith, that is the ‘Grace’ bit. The work of Jesus is free. We did not and do not earn it. We receive the free gift of relationship with God through Jesus work, which will change us and then the world.

Your comments and questions are welcome.
