after a busy day one yesterday, I have enjoyed several valuable conversations including a long wide ranging (as usual) with Doug of Vac.
On the train this morning, I reviewed some of the ideas from The Call by Os Guinness. This material I will present tonight at English Club. The best quote this morning that I read was from Solzhenitsyn’s The Oak and the Calf, “I have done many things in my life that conflicted with the great aims I had set myself – and something has always set me on the true path again.” (Thanks Pastor Dan for reminding me of this excellent book by Guinness on this topic) So, dear reader, I suggest that ALL of us consider the words of the Russian (?) novelist and dissident (was he a Christ follower? need research….) who, in this quote, wonders about the a “something” outside himself setting him on track… I believe this to be our Jesus who does care about the path we take and wishes to guide us toward that which He has called us. Please pray for good communicating tonight to one or two groups and tomorrow to a church… that my words will be intentional, of the correct vocab level and at at moderate pace for these, mostly second language hearers. And pray also for continued conversations which are important because they center on the conversant’s relationship with God. Sorry about no pix yet, I haven’t had enough wireless time to upload… maybe tonight? tomorrow? dunno yet.
