last weekend was relaxing… there is a shot of me at the new(ish) Udvar-Hazy air and space museum last Sat: behind me are on the left a WWII P-51 on the other side of me below (your right) is an SR-71 and back in the back below Old Glory (USA flag) is the USS ENTERPRISE (space shuttle).
This weekend is a bit different, we’re doing a bit of spring cleaning… in the hall closet, Sweet Anna found treasures from long ago!

it is without quesiton spring time… i have GOT to cut the grass! and the weeds are new and tender, I need to get the sprayer out to get the weeds! and there are clothes to wash, chores to do… and blah, blah, blah, and then there are weddings to attend, and the prom is next weekend, the NYC trip after that, then blah, blah, blah… and before you know it, graduation and then I’ll be in a jet plane bound for the heart land, where I will watch it turn summer… it’s a fast paced time of year… now, where is the motivation to start that lawn mower????

28 years ago, governments protested and boycotted the Olympics in the USSR… the cold war enabled the USA to forego the Olympics… but China, on the other hand is entangled with the USA’s finances pretty deeply… can the globalized ecomomies afford to stand on principle again? doubtful, very doubtful.

I was amazed at the creativity of U23D last night. The creativity of the artists who produced, filmed and edited the 3D film. The creativity of U2 themselves… who through their music call us to respect human rights, seek peace and co-exist on this planet peacefully… these are all biblical themes… think about it: God’s creativity brought us about and our creativity is a reflection of His image in us… the calls for human rights and peace among people are like the prophets of old who I’m sure inform the heart behind the songs of U2… We are called to make change… Jesus doesn’t give us the option of inaction… He said GO, Jesus didn’t make suggestions, He reminded us of biblical COMMANDS to love our neighbor as ourself… but we must remember that before any of this can happen, we must love God. My last observation is the way these prophets interacted with the crowd and the drama with which Bono particularly showed the power of the message of the songs… it is an amazing, amazing show, if you can go, you must. It’s playing all over “In God’s Country,” in DC at the Natural History Musuem IMAX, go if you can, its in Budapest somewhere, or on a “Street with No Name” but I know not how long. kingdom travelin'
